Ed Stanley Releases "Cod'ine"
Soundhole Reords has released Ed Stanley's new disk, "Cod'ine."
The disk, which casts forth a slew of new Stanley originals with a wide hand, features Stanley's cover of the classic Buffy Sainte-Marie song, "Cod'ine."
"Buffy and me used to hit the syrup back when she was out on that Indian reservation out in Gallup," said Stanley. It's about time I covered that song."
The disk also features three recordings made earlier this year by Indiana University professor of Musicolgy Joe Mark as part of his "Folksong Alliance" radio program. The CD will also feature outtakes and rarities. "Ed Stanley is one of folk music's genuinely authentic voices," says Mark. "At a time when practioners of folk music seem to be skipping 'down from the mountain' every time a booking is available, Mr. Stanley offers a quality of true autheticity, one that suggests he's never been 'up the hill' in the first place."

Ed Nurses Hand From Ice Machine Injuries
The machine was shot, so you always had to reach to the very back if you wanted to get any ice from that hunk of scrap. Ed reached deep all right. So deep that he got his hand cought in the compressor. Ouch!!! If nothing else it was a good pretext for wrangling a scrip from them saddle-horn heads at the Emergency Room.
"It's kind of a bitch when you reach for the ice and end up on the rocks," says Ed.

Ed Hails Townson Release
Hey, everybody, Ed Stanley here. Hope you make like the post hole guy and dig this site.
I'm just bit-all-over with excitment at the news that Soundhole records is reissuing "Tarbucket: Rare Home Demos of Greg Townson." Sure, these recordings are rough as hell, but what they lack in sound quality they make up in raw scratch-throated raggediness. These were recorded in motel rooms, many of them, and they show it. That's a good thing, to my way of thinking.
I also just want to let you know that Greg Townson is not only one of the best guitar strummers with 10 fingernails on his hands, he also seals a mean driveway. He's also a nice guy if he's not been drinking. Check Greg and boys out at the link below!
